Physical and Chemical Properties
Physical properties: colorless transparent liquid with fragrance. Melting point is -98.7℃, boiling point is 57.8℃, relative density is 0.932(20℃), refractive index 1.359(20℃). Mutually soluble with alcohol, ether, slightly soluble in water, solubility in water is 32.6g/L (20 ℃).
Chemical Properties: It has the property of ester, hydrolysis reaction catalyzed by acid or alkali, generating acetic acid and methanol. Under certain conditions, it can also undergo alcoholysis, ammonolysis and other reactions.
Uses
Solvent: It is an excellent organic solvent with good solubility for cellulose, resin, paint, ink, etc. It can be used in the manufacture of paint, ink and adhesive. In the production of artificial leather, it is used as a solvent to dissolve synthetic resin, so that the resin can be evenly coated on the fabric to form artificial leather with certain performance.
Fragrance: It can be used to blend a variety of edible flavors such as strawberry, banana, apple, etc. It can also be used in perfume, cosmetics and other daily-use chemicals to provide a fresh and fruity scent.
