Dichloromethane, an organic compound with the chemical formula CH2Cl2. is a colorless transparent liquid with an irritating odor similar to ether. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether, in the usual conditions of use is a non-flammable low-boiling solvent, its vapor in high temperature air to become a high concentration, before generating a weakly combustible mixture of gases [4], often used in place of flammable petroleum ether, ether and so on.
