Methanol (Methanol), also known as hydroxymethane, is an organic compound, is the simplest structure of the saturated monohydric alcohol, its chemical formula is CH3OH/CH4O, of which CH3OH is the structural formula, can highlight the hydroxyl group of methanol, CAS No. 67-56-1, molecular weight of 32.04, boiling point of 64.7 ℃. It is also called “wood alcohol” or “wood spirit” because it was first found in the dry distillation of wood. The lowest dose of oral poisoning is about 100mg/kg body weight, and 0.3-1g/kg can be killed by oral intake. It is used in the manufacture of formaldehyde and pesticides, etc., and as an extractant of organic matter and denaturant of alcohol.
