Dimethylacetamide (Dimethylacetamide), full name N,N-dimethylacetamide (chemical formula: CH3C(O)N(CH3)2 abbreviation for DMAC or DMA. a commonly used as a non proton polar solvent. Colorless transparent liquid, combustible. Can be mixed with water, alcohol, ether, ester, benzene, trichloromethane and aromatic compounds and other organic solvents.
Used in the manufacture of drugs, synthetic resins, also used as a solvent for spinning polyacrylonitrile and the separation of styrene from the carbon eight fraction of the extraction distillation solvent. It is produced by the action of dimethylamine and acetyl chloride.
