Hydroxylamine hydrochloride is an inorganic, colorless crystalline, easily deliquescent, white chemical substance, mainly used as a reducing agent and visualizer, used in organic synthesis for the preparation of oximes, and also used as a raw material for the synthesis of anticancer drugs (hydroxyurea), sulfonamides (Synthroid) and pesticides (methomyl).
